How safe is your place?

In 2019 almost 30% of home break-ins in the NT occurred through an unlocked or unsecured premise. Neighbourhood Watch NT (NHWNT) and Victims of Crime NT (VoCNT) want you to ask and answer the question, how safe is my place?

How safe is my place? is an online self-assessment which will help you to understand your current home security levels and provides an individualised report with easily implementable, best-practice home security advice.

The Elves are Back!

We are welcoming Twinkle and Tinsel, the Crime Prevention Elves, back in 2020. In true elf fashion, they will be starring in their own community safety video campaign, and they need real life Territorians to star alongside them!

Senior's Personal Safety Sessions

We have partnered with Victims of Crime NT and Personal Protection Strategies NT to deliver a series of Senior's Personal Safety Sessions across the NT.

Our pilot session was held in Batchelor on Thursday, 3rd September, followed by two sessions in Katherine and three sessions in Alice Springs in mid-October.

The workshops provided participants with a fun and interactive environment to learn practical strategies and information to support their personal safety.

Check out some of the comments from our participants below:

"It was a very good course, informative and confidence boosting."

"I enjoyed the simple, practical strategies and comprehensive approach."

"Excellent workshop! Keep them up!"

"This workshop has made me feel much safer. I am better able to deal with daily activities e.g. walking, shopping alone etc."

Keep an eye on your emails and our social media for our upcoming Senior's Personal Safety Sessions. Sessions are in the works for Darwin and Palmerston in December, 2020.

It was a wonderful week full of connection, coffee and cupcakes, with seven events held across Darwin, Palmerston, Alice Springs, Katherine and Tennant Creek.
